Dr. Ed Stone of Rose Creek Twp. died at his residence one mile west of Ida, on Saturday morning March 24, at 4 o'clock a.m. of heart disease.
A little before four he called Mrs. Stone and said it was time to get up. Mrs. stone replied that it was a little early. The Dr. turned over in the bed, and Mrs. Stone's attention was attracted by a rattling noise in his throat and again spoke to him. She then discovered that her had died instantly.
Dr. Stone was buried at Ida by the I.O.O.F. of which body he was a member. The Dr. was an old soldier and a pensioner, and drew a pension for the disability from which he died. He leaves a wife and five children, four of whom were at home and one absent in California. He was an old resident of this place and was well known and highly respected
