John A. Stone was born August 1, 1867, at Linton Mills, O., and died May 29, 1936, following a long illness at his home in Salina, at the age of 68 years, 9 months and 28 days,

When three years old, he came to Munden with his parents, and made his home in this county until 20 years ago when he moved to Salina. He was a member of the Methodist church and I.O.O.F.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Cora Stone; five daughters, Mrs. Nina Muth and Mrs. Wilma Holmes of Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Eva Carlson, Smolan; Miss Elsie Stone, Portland, Ore.; and Mrs. Alice Walker, Kansas City; a sister, Mrs. May Bachelor of Belleville; and two brothers, L. R. Stone and A. B. Stone, Portland, Ore.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Salina, and burial was made in the Ida cemetery.
