Funeral services for Mr. Rex E. Camp, age 76 of Goodwater, will be Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. Zenus Windsor officiating. Burial will follow in the New Prospect Primitive Baptist Cemetery.

Mr. Camp passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Lineville Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Randolph County but a lifelong resident of Clay County, Mr. Camp was self-employed as a brick mason. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War, a gun enthusiast and target shooter.

Mr. Camp is survived by one step-daughter, Regina Hepburn of Goodwater; one step-son, Keith Helm (Pat) of Bradenton, FL; two sisters: Katherine Owens of Covington, GA and Bonnie Smith (Monroe) of Norcross, GA; two brothers: Huell Camp of Lineville and J.B. Camp Jr. (Shirley) of Anniston and six grandchildren: Brandon Gray, Heather Hepburn and Ashlyn, Rachael, Brentton and Zachary Helm.

Mr. Camp was preceded in death by his parents: James Alford Camp and Amzie Lee Cockrell Camp; his wife of 25 years, Mona Laveta Camp; five sisters: Mildred Martin, Vernice Gunn, Maudean Cofield, Melba Hunt and Frances Colburn and three brothers: Bayron Camp, Aubrey Camp and Lavell Camp.

Pallbearers will be Donny Camp, Leonard Camp, Jerry Hunt, Jim Hunt, Larry Cofield, Tony Owens, Ron Owens, Royce Owens and Victor Colburn.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ralph Martin and Ray Martin.

The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville on Sunday, August 24, 2014 from 12:00 noon until service time at 2:00 p.m.
