Funeral services for Mr. Aubrey R. Camp, age 80 of Lineville, will be Sunday, June 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Springhill Christian Church with Rev. Dan Keith officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Camp passed away Friday, June 19, 2009 at his residence. He was born and lived most of his life in Clay County and had retired from Higgins Slacks Company after more than 50 years of service. Mr. Camp also enjoyed raising catfish and working in his garden. He was a member of Springhill Christian Church, the Lineville Masonic Lodge and a charter and honorary lifetime member of the Clay County Rescue Squad.
Mr. Camp is survived by his wife, Frances B. Camp of Lineville; four daughters: Kathy Graben (Novice) of Lineville, Debi Pulliam (Owen) of Phoenix, AZ, Susan Denson (Johnny) of Anniston, Amanda Johnson of Talladega; one son, Thomas Gravette of Millerville; three sisters: Katherine Owens of Grayson, GA, Melba Hunt of Lineville, Bonnie Smith (Monroe) of Norcross, GA; three brothers: Huel Camp of Lineville, J.B. Camp (Shirley) of Anniston, Rex Camp of Goodwater plus three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hannan Camp and Amzie Cockrell Camp; his first Wife, Louise Farley Camp; one daughter, Dana Camp; one son, Randy Camp; four sisters: Mildren Martin, Vernice Gunn, Maudine Cofield, Mary Frances Colburn; two brothers, Bayron Camp and Lavelle Camp.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Camp, Leonard Camp Jr., Larry Cofield, Victor Colburn, Jerry Hunt, Jimmy Hunt, Tony Owens, Ronnie Owens and Royce Owens. Members of the Clay County Rescue Squad will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009 and until service time on Sunday.
