Mary Phillips was the 9th child & 3rd daughter of Charles & Sarah "Twilley" Phillips. (Five more children were born after her).

Mary moved with her family from Kentucky to Brown County, Ohio where she married James Albert Glaze, Sr. on 8 Sep 1836. James was a farmer.

James & Mary had a total of eighteen children, 11 boys & 7 girls. While living in Brown County, Ohio they had 7 boys (including twins):
1. William Glaze 1837-1917
2. George Glaze 1838-1875
3. Joseph Glaze 1838-1910
4. Samuel Nathaniel Glaze 1840-1865
5. Charles W. Glaze 1842-1895
6. Robert Glaze 1843-1845
7. John Richard Glaze 1845-1908

They moved their family to Montgomery County, Indiana prior to the birth of their first girls, twins:
8. Ritta Ann "Ritty" Glaze 1846-1909
9. Sarah Jane Glaze 1846-1929

This family settled in Tippecanoe County, Indiana where seven more children were born:
10. Matilda Martha Glaze 1848-1915
11. Stephen Glaze 1849-1930

James & Mary then moved their family to Vermilion County, Illinois where their last two children were born.

They were farmers all their lives.

Mary died in childbirth of Amanda on 22 Apr 1960 in Vermilion County, Illinois.
