SARAH JANE MARCUM, A PIONEER IS DEAD 30 July, 1929 El Dorado Times

Sarah Jane Marcum, a resident of Butler County for 52 years, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lottie Hacker, at lost Springs. The body was brought last night to the Hammer Funeral home here, and funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon.
Mrs. Marcum came to Butler county with her husband in 1877, and has lived in this community since that time. Mr. Marcum died here 27 years ago. Three soon and four daughters survive Mrs. Marcum. They are: Carey T. Marcum, El Dorado; Arthur E. Marcum, Gentry, Ark; Enos R. Marcum, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs Lottie Hacker, Lost Springs; Mrs. Lavica Large, El Dorado; Mrs Rebecca Lotspeich, Beaver Co., OK and Mrs Julia Yelton, Gentry, Ark. Mrs. Marcum is survived also by 46 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Methodist Church here. Rev, R. L. Stuart, pastor of the church, will be in charge.
