Elenora “Nora” Schmidt, 83, died August 11, 2014 at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood. Born August 27, 1930, at Liebenthal, she was the daughter of Alex and Mary (Doerfler) Pfeifer. She married Harold J. Schmidt August 23, 1948 at Liebenthal. She was a fiberglass roller for Sfeld Engineering for nineteen years until her retirement. Mrs. Schmidt was a Great Bend resident since 1950 coming from Liebenthal. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the Apostolate of Our Lady of Fatima (Blue Army), all of Great Bend.

Survivors include her husband, one son, one daughter, one brother, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Marie Schmidt Lang; two brothers, Celestine Pfeifer and Gerald Pfeifer, and four sisters, Caroline Steckline, Florence Matal, Armella Schmidt, and Marie Schwartz, and one great-grandson.

Altar Society Rosary will be at 4:00 p.m. and Vigil Service with Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Bryant Funeral Home. Blue Army Rosary will be at 9 a.m., Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will start at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 14, 2014 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Prince of Peace Parish, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
