Fayetteville, Tenn. Sidney Ashworth, 75, of the Lincoln community died Sunday in the St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the State Line Cemetery in Madison County, Ala.; with his son James Ashworth, the Rev. Charles Jones and the Rev. Don Schultz officiating.
Mr. Ashworth was a native of Lincoln County and a retired service manager of the Norman and Reed Furniture Store. He served for eight years on the Lincoln County Board of Education.
He was a member of the Woodman of the World organization and of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ella Bea Posey Ashworth; three daughters, Mrs. Gaynelle Bennett of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Mrs. Wanda Stafford of Nashville and Mrs. Betty Jones of Huntsville, Ala.; two sons, James Ashworth of Gurley, Ala.; and Ernie Ashworth of Lewisburg, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. Jodie Shockley of Huntsville, Ala.; and Mrs. Goldie Brown of Fayetteville; a brother, William Johnson Ashworth of Asheville, N. C.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Tom Rawlings, Benny Stafford, Mike Ashworth, Mark Ashworth, Chris Jones, Russell Jones, Paul Ashworth and Andy Ashworth.

Benjamin Sidney Ashworth, a Lincoln community resident and former member of the Lincoln County Board of Education, died Sunday morning at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
Mr. Ashworth died following a long illness. He was 75 years old.
He had retired as service manager at Norman and Reed Furniture Co. in Fayetteville.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Gallant Funeral Home in Fayetteville with James Ashworth, the Rev. Charles Jones and The Rev. Don Shultz officiating. Burial was in State Line Cemetery in Madison County, Ala.
Mr. Ashworth served on the county board of education for eight years. He had served as an election poll official for a number of years.
A native Lincoln Countian, Mr. Ashworth was a member of the Baptist Church and the Woodmen of the World.
He was the son of the late James McKee and Sarah Bea King Ashworth.
