Helen L. Koerner, 80, Hayward, died on Friday, Feb. 16, 2001 at the Hayward Nursing Home.

Helen Louise Woodbeck was born March 11, 1920 in Hayward, the daughter of George and Grace Woodbeck. She attended school in Hayward. On March 7, 1940 she was joined in marriage to Robert Koerner in Hayward. She and her husband operated Koerner Wreath Manufacturing for many years before retiring. She loved flower arranging.

She is survived by one son, Robert "Buck" Koerner, Hayward; one daughter, Patricia (Bill) Kilian, Hayward; three grandchildren, Matt, Angie, and Brian; one great-granddaughter, Tressa; one brother, Lyle (Carol) Woodbeck, Hayward; four sisters, Emily Biel, Charlotte Miles, and Jean Rang, all of Hayward, and June (Everett) Wetterling, Rice Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Robert; two sisters, Lyda Wetzel and Betty Woodbeck; and five brothers Louie, Willard, Edward, James, and Vernon Woodbeck.

A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 19, 2001 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward with Rev. Mark Wilson officiating.

The Anderson-Nathan Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
