Funeral Services Held For Willard E. Ford

Funeral services were held for Willard Eugene Ford Thursday who died Sunday, May 5 on his 71 birthday.
Services were held in the North Ward Chapel. Clifford Heaton conducted:
Song – "Thou doesn't not Need to Weep Alone", choir.
Prayer – Cray Roundy.
Trio – "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere", Harriet Judd, Ramona Johnson and Maurine Jones.
Speaker – Mrs. Rachel Findlay.
Song – "Silver Hired Daddy of Mine", Boyd McAllister.
Speaker – T. Lavoy Esplin.
Trio – "Lay My Head Beneath the Rose", Harriet Judd, Ramona Johnson and Maurine Jones.
Sentiments – Tamer Hamblin.
Song – "Oh My Father," Mrs. Cray Roundy.
Speaker – Daniel S. Frost.
Song - "Rest Me Now From Care and Sorrow," Choir.

Willard was born in Kanab, May 5, 1875. He married Myrtle Roundy in 1903. Surviving him are his wife and 11 children and 25 grandchildren.
The children are: Lamar Ford, Reno, Nevada; Paul A. Ford, Rexburg, Idaho; Layton Ford, Dennett, Texas; Hyrum K. Ford, Fredonia, Arizona; Mrs. Phyllis and Mrs. Chloris Bently of Reno, Nevada; Mrs. Belinda Thomas, Fernley, Nevada; Mrs. Betty Witaker, Oakland, California; Mrs. Arivalla Thomas, Spanish Fork, Utah and Mrs. Norma Jean Church, Kanab. All the children attended the services exept Emily who was under doctor's orders not to make the trip.
Willard had been out on the mountain during the day and was apparent good health and peacefully passed away that evening at his home.
He was custodian of the Kanab High School 25 years and retired last year. He had worked under 11 Principals and 8 Superintendents, in the years of his service.
The speakers told of his faithful service to the school and community and of his great love for his wife and family; how proud he was to tell of the accomplishments.
Relatives from out of town to attend the funeral were: Mrs. Saul Roundy, Mr. and Mrs. Cray Roundy, Mrs. Al Roundy, Jay Ford, Mrs. Maude Little, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ford, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Ford.
