Found in The State 28 September 1972: Mrs. Mamie Scott Friday, 79, of 174 St. Andrews Rd., widow of G. A. Friday, died Tuesday in a local nursing home. Born in Bamberg, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Donnie Kemp Scott. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, G. S. "Bert" Friday of Columbia; and a brother, Daniel Scott of Cayce. Services will be at 5 p.m. today in St. Mark United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. George R. Cooper. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
