WINNSBORO (Special) — Oscar Shipley, 67, died unexpectedly at his residence here Thursday. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the United Pentecostal Church here with Rev. Jessie Hawthorne officiating.
Interment will be in Ogden Cemetery under direction of Youngs Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alma Shipley; two sons, C. L. and J. R. all of Winnsboro; four daughters, Mrs. D. W. Pippins, Brookhaven, Miss.; Mrs. Merle Howard, Monroe; Mrs. Elsie Vaught, Beaumont, Tex., Mrs. Gordon Hilbun, Winnsboro; one sister, Mrs. Jimmy Hearn, Wisner; one brother, Lee Shipley, also of Wisner.

Mr. Shipley was the first child born to the union of J. Clarence Shipley and Cecile A. Gilley, who married in Richland Parish, LA on October 4, 1893. He married Alma Tarver on August 10, 1913.
