Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alma Shipley; two sons, C. L. and J. R. all of Winnsboro; four daughters, Mrs. D. W. Pippins, Brookhaven, Miss.; Mrs. Merle Howard, Monroe; Mrs. Elsie Vaught, Beaumont, Tex., Mrs. Gordon Hilbun, Winnsboro; one sister, Mrs. Jimmy Hearn, Wisner; one brother, Lee Shipley, also of Wisner.

Mr. Shipley was the first child born to the union of J. Clarence Shipley and Cecile A. Gilley, who married in Richland Parish, LA on October 4, 1893. He married Alma Tarver on August 10, 1913.
