Funeral services for Mrs. William Van Rooyen, 51, who died Wednesday morning at the Orange City Community Hospital, were held Saturday, February 17. Services were held at the Newkirk Reformed Church at 1:30 P.M. with Reverend John Smith and Reverend Ralph S. Meyer officiating. Burial was in the Newkirk Cemetery.

Mrs. Van Rooyen, nee Jeanette De Graaf, was born October 4, 1910, on a farm near Newkirk. She graduated from the Newkirk High School in 1927. On February 27, 1935, she was united in marriage to Mr. William E. Van Rooyen. To this union were born two children.

The Rooyen family moved to their new home in Alton only a few months ago but in that time added to their host of friends in the Newkirk vicinity, many new friends and admirers.

Devoted to her family, home and church, Mrs. Van Rooyen was a lovely person to know and her memory will be ever cherished by family and friends.
