MRS. ROSA HEWITT

DOUDS. - Mrs. Rosa Hewitt, former resident of Douds and Ottumwa, died Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. at the Hazel Crest hospital at Homewood, Ill.
The wife of Clarence E. Hewitt, who is also a patient at the Hazel Crest hospital, Mrs. Hewitt and her husband had lived in Homewood the last six years. A native of the Douds community, she spent the early part of her life on a farm near here before moving to Ottumwa approximately 35 years ago. The Hewitt family lived there until 1923, then at Iowa City before going to Homewood. Mrs. Hewitt was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic church in Eldon.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Col. Ruel Hewitt, serving with the army medical corps in Japan, and Dr. John Hewitt of New York; one daughter, Mabel, of Harvey, Ill.; and one brother, Horace McLinden of Florida. A sister preceded her in death.
The body will be brought to the Pedrick funeral home in Douds.
