Arno O. Pagel, age 99, of Chilton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the Calumet Medical Center with his family by his side.

Arno was born September 30, 1910 in the Town of Charlestown at the Pagel Homestead to the late Herman & Emma (Kind) Pagel. Arno was a lifelong member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ where he was baptized, confirmed, married, and served on the church council. Arno married Marion K. Paulsen on December 28, 1944. The couple farmed together on the Pagel Homestead until 1990 at which time they built a home in Chilton. Arno and Marion enjoyed spending time with their family and friends, traveling, gardening and playing cards.

Marion preceded Arno in death January 12, 2007 after 62 years of Marriage. Arno moved to the Chilton Care Center in August of 2009. Arno is survived by two daughters: Joyce (Thomas) Sievert of Neenah, Janet (John) Andrews in Neenah; two grandchildren: Pamela (Darrell) Ducklow of Johnson Creek, Anthony Sievert of Madison; one great-grandchild: Cole Ducklow; step-grandchildren: David (Honor) Andrews, Hayley (Stephen) Andrews-Davies; and five step-great grandchildren: Sam, Emily, Nathan, Madienne Rose, and Finnian, all of England. He is further survived by a brother: Herman Pagel; and two sisters-in-law: Vivian Pagel, Alice Horst; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his father & mother-in-law: Carl & Minnie (Buettner) Paulsen; 2 brothers: John Pagel, Ted (Elva) Pagel, Sr.; two sisters: Olive (Walter) Jaeger, three year old Adela; sisters-in-law: Grace Pagel, Ruth (Sturm) Pagel; and a brother-in-law: Henry Horst.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Monday, February 1, 2010 at Ebenezer UCC (44 W. Washington) in Chilton with the Rev. Kathy Gloff officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 AM until Noon on Monday, February 1, 2010 when the service will be held.
