Emma Pagel

Mrs. Herman Pagel, 88, of 2008 Roosevelt St. New Holstein, died of an apparent heart attack Sunday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jaeger, with whom she made her home.
Born in the town of Rantoul on Feb. 16, 1879 she was a daughter of the late Gottlieb and Ida Kindler Kind and on Nov. 4, 1904 she was married to Herman Pagel at Chilton. He died March 30, 1961.
Following their marriage the couple farmed in the Town of Charlestown for many years. In 1944 they retired and moved to Chilton where Mr. Pagel died March 30, 1961. The past seven years, Mrs. Pagel has been living with Mr. and Mrs. Jaeger.
Survivors include four sons, John, Arno, and Herman Jr., all of Chilton and Theodore of Redonda Beach, California; one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Olive) Jaeger, New Holstein; three brothers, Edwin of New Holstein, Otto of Greenwood and Adolph of Germantown; two sisters, Mrs. Augusta Pohl of St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. Helen Hartwig of Milwaukee, and 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. One daughter preceded her in death.
