Mildred was raised in Wanette and attended Wanette Public Schools. She was a 1934 graduate of Wanette High School. Mildred later attended Business College in Oklahoma City.
She married Wess Eversole on August 26, 1939 and he preceded her in death on November 28, 1988. Mildred was a member of the Church of Christ in St. Louis, Oklahoma. She served as President several times for the Extension Homemakers Club and as Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Lodge #57 in Maud. Mildred loved vegetable and flower gardening. She entered her many flowers, canned goods and fresh vegetables from her garden in the county fair winning many blue ribbons. Mildred enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wess Eversole; parents, Murry and Zula Higgins; 2 sons, Johnny Eversole and Jimmie Eversole; daughter-in-law, Ann Eversole; 3 brothers, George, Winford and Louis D. Higgins; 5 sisters, Sylvia Pogue, Bernice Swenson, Ola Mae Clair, Ellen Lillard and infant sister, Opal Higgins.
Service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Wanette Cemetery Chapel. Burial will follow at Wanette Cemetery
