Ivan G Osterkamp Sr. age 80 of Anamosa, died Saturday afternoon, April 15, 2006 at his home following a long illness.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 Tuesday morning, April 18, 2006 at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, rural Monticello with interment in the Wayne Zion Cemetery. Rev. David Jordan will officiate at the services.
Surviving is his wife, Sally, 5 children; Annette (Bob) Michaels, Ivan (Yo) Osterkamp Jr.; Scott (Brenda) Osterkamp all of Anamosa; Sarah (Ken) Rowley, Stone City; Freda (Glen Jr.); Lovell, Monticello. 13 Grandchildren, and 5 great Grandchildren, 4 sisters; Freda (Marvin) Wood, Lake Tahoe, Nevada; Caroline Stoneking, Anamosa; Florence Kula, Monticello; Deloris (Richard) Rickels, Anamosa. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters Edna Younkers, Wilma Thompson, Emma Wright and 3 brothers Henry, Clarence and Ronald Osterkamp.
Ivan Glenn Osterkamp Sr. was born August 17, 1925 at Amber Iowa. He was the son of Ernest and Emma Christensen Osterkamp. Ivan attended school at Buck Creek and rural schools in Cedar, Dubuque and Jones Counties. Ivan started farming with his father and later worked for the Rock Island Railroad and Wilson Foods.
Ivan G. Osterkamp and Sally Derhammer were married October 13, 1956 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Anamosa. The couple farmed near Anamosa and in Cedar County. Ivan worked for Paulsen Construction and Yarl Construction, Skell Gas, and the Iowa Men's Reformatory. Ivan worked 20 years for Jones County doing road maintenance. He also worked part time for the Stone City Quarry.
