HENRY OSTERKAMP OF RURAL AMBER DIES ON JUNE 6TH
AMBER…Henry Allen Osterkamp,45, rural Amber, died early Thursday afternoon, June 6, at John McDonald hospital, Monticello, after suffering an apparent heart attack about an hour earlier.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 10, at 1:30 p.m. at Wayne Zion Lutheran church. Rev. Robert Niederwimmer conducted the service. Interment was in the Wayne Cemetery
He was born Nov. 8, 1922, son of Ernest and Anna Gross Osterkamp, Amber. He attended rural schools in the area. He was married Oct. 17, 1944, to Evelyn Luella Etten. Couple have made their home in Jones County where Mr. Osterkamp was engaged in farming.
Survivors include his wife; eight children; Larry, Sharon, Ernest, Patricia, Pamela, Marilyn, Deborah and Connie; his father, Ernest Osterkamp and his step-mother, Mrs. Emma Osterkamp'
Three sisters, Edna, Mrs. Steve Yonker, Muskegon, Mich; Frieda, Mrs. Marvin Wood, San Jose, Calif; Wilma, Mrs. Raymond Thompson, Iowa City; three half-brothers, Ivan Osterkamp, Clarence Osterkamp and Ronald Osterkamp, all of Anamosa.
Others included four half-sisters, Emma, Mrs. William Wright, West Branch; Mrs. Caroline Kray; Delores, Mrs. Richard Rickels; and Florence, Mrs. Dennis Kula, all of Anamosa.
He was preceded in death by his mother on Nov. 17, 1922, a week after his birth.
