Nancy was the fifth of eleven children born to Asa Cole and Anna Goldsmith of Westmoreland, New Hampshire. She was married on 11 February 1829 to Reverend Isaac Esty, with the marriage recorded in both Harvard, Mass. and Westmoreland, NH. In 1850 Nancy and Isaac were in Bethlehem (Grafton Co.), NH with son William C. Esty, aged 12. By 1860 they were living in Amherst, Mass., where they were also living in 1870, and where they both died.
