Noel G. Letourneau, 89, of Sanford, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday February 9, 2014. He was born in Sanford on December 25, 1924 a son of the late Oliver and Angelina (Charette) Letourneau. A graduate of Sanford High School he then served his country during WWII in the United States Navy.

He retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard after many years of service with the company. A communicant of Holy Family Parish, he was also a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, the Sanford Elk's Lodge, the VFW and the American Legion.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Aline Letourneau, two sons, Rene and Gerry Letourneau, one grandson, Christopher Moses, two stepsons, Donald and Robert Bernier.

He is survived by his second wife, Hope (Bernier) Letourneau of Sanford, daughters, Nancy Moses and her husband, Brian of Shapleigh, Pauline Letourneau of Sanford, son, Paul Letourneau of Lincoln, daughter in law, Ruth Bettinger of Sanford, stepsons, Richard Bernier of Tucson, AZ, Michael Bernier of Sanford, Raymond Bernier Jr., of Phoenix, AZ, Mark Bernier of Sanford, stepdaughters, Linda Chesley of Sanford, Donna Junville of Tucson, AZ, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church. Visiting hours will be Wednesday beginning at 8:30 until 9:30AM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. Burial will be in the spring at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.
