Grady A. Bellamy, age 90 of Kingsport, passed away on Sunday, April 27th, 2014.

Born on October 3rd, 1923 in Scott County, Virginia, Grady was the son of the late Claude and Martha Kate Snapp Bellamy. He spent the majority of his life in Kingsport. Grady was an army veteran who served his country proudly during World War II. He was stationed in France, Belgium and Germany during the war. He retired from Tennessee Eastman Company after 42 years of service. Grady held the title of Elder Emeritus at New Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Grady was preceded in death by his wife of 30+ years, Mildred Bellamy; one sister, Edna Housewright; and three brothers, Donnie, Charlie and Hugh Bellamy.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Michael Bellamy and wife Kathy; one granddaughter, "His Little Buddy," Amber Bellamy; two sisters, Dorothy (Dot) Davidson and Hazel Wininger; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at New Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 1116 Nelms Lane, Kingsport, TN 37665, (423) 245-1779 on Wednesday, April 30th, 2014 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Richard Willis, officiating. Special music will be provided by Bryon Fogleman.

A Committal Service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, May 1st, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel at Oak Hill Funeral Home. Military Rites will be accorded by Kingsport Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265 of the American Legion. Entombment will follow in Oak Hill Mausoleum Number 1 at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to New Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 4022, Kingsport, TN 37665.
