Charlie was a veteran of the US Army, rifleman 290th Infantry, serving during World War II
from 1944-1946. He received a Combat Badge, 2 Bronze Stars, WWII Victory Medal, 30 Cal. Rifle M. T. Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a life member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2972.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Pauline Clapp Cook; children, Richard J. Cook (Carolyn), Janice Cook Tickle (Tommy), and Timothy M. Cook; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at Apple's Chapel Christian Church on Friday, January 3, 2014 by Rev. Roger Price, Rev. Allen Myers and Rev. Tim Cook. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
