Ada worked for 39 years at Lorillard Tobacco Company before retiring. She was a lifelong member of Apple's Chapel Christian Church and the Helping Hands Sunday School Class.
She was a diehard Duke Basketball fan and enjoyed farming, gardening and baking for neighbors and shut-ins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, A.J. and Charlie Cook, and sisters, Ruby Cook Busick and Annie Cook Jones.
A funeral service to celebrate her life was held at Apple's Chapel Christian Church by Rev. Dave Johnson and Rev. Larry Gray. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
