Funeral srevices were held today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church for Mrs. Elizabeth Schranz, 87, who died at her home in Buckeye Township Sunday after a short illness. The Rev. William Hassold officiated and burial was in Highland Cemetery.
Born on March 1, 1875 in Austria, she was married there to Charles Schranz in 1897. A resident of Gladwin County since 1913, she was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Gladwin. Mrs. Schranz was a faithful correspondent of the Record for many years, reporting the Littletown news.
Survivors include her husband, Charles; four daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Wright, Mrs. Rose Nettleton, and Mrs. Bertha Lennon, of Gladwin, and Mrs. Josephine Behnke, of Durand; two sons, Albert, of Gaylord, and Walter, of Detroit; a sister, Marie Ulreich, and a brother, John Schranz, both of Austria; 14 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
