In 1880 his father John Blink (27 y, farmer), his mother Catharine (27), his siblings Anna (5, Illinois), Jacob (3, Illinois), Michael (2, Illinois) and Benjamin (0, Indiana) lived in North Township, Lake County, in the utter northwestern part of Indiana. After 1880 his parents had in Indiana, Lake County four more children: Mary (born 1881), Ellen (1883), Dick [himself, alias Richard (1885)] and Nellie (1887).

His mother Katharine died in April 1888 at the age of 34 years, very probably in Indiana, Lake County.

In June 1900 Dick (15 y, Juni 1885, born in Indiana, farm laborer), his father John Blink (47 y, widower, farmer), his siblings Jacob (23, October 1877, Illinois, farm laborer), Mike (22, November 1878, Indiana, farm laborer), Ben (20, February 1880, Indiana, farm laborer), Mary (19, September 1881, Indiana, servant), Ellen (17, August 1883, Indiana, servant) and Nellie (13, November 1887, Indiana, at school) were living at a rented farm in North Township, Lake County, Indiana. On 12 September 1918 the 33 years aged Richard Blink, husband of Alice, residing in Lansing and inspector tile works at the Federal Cement Tile Co. in Hammond, Lake County, Indiana, was administrated on a WW I Draft Registration Card.

He was married to the five years younger Alice Tanis, born in ca. 1891 in Thornton [Township?], Cook County, Illinois, just south of Chicago. On 28 February 1914 they had a child in Lansing, nowadays a southern suburb of Chicago, Thornton Township, Cook County, Illinois.

In 1920 Dick Blink (34, Illinois [?]), his wife Alice (29, Illinois), their son John (4, Illinois) and their daughter Minnie (1, Illinois) lived at a rented home still in Lansing, Cook County, Illinois.

In April 1940 Richard Blink (54, Indiana, manager at a retail meat market), his wife Alice (49, Illinois), their son John Blink (24, Illinois, helper at a retail meat market) and their daughter-in-law Katherine Blink (20, Illinois) lived at an own home, worth $4200, still in Lansing, Oakwood, Thornton Township, Cook County, Illinois. They lived in 1935 in the same house.

In 1942 the 56 years aged Richard Blink, residing at South Oakwood Avenue, Oak Glen, Lansing, Cook County, Illinois and employee of Krogers in Lansing, was administrated on a WW II Draft Registration Card.

Butcher Richard Blink died in 1944 at the age of 59 years in the village of Lansing, Cook County, Illinois.
