Son of John Enright (1837-1909) and Elizabeth O'Hara (1841-1918).
James Edward Enright was born on January 2, 1872, exactly one year after the baby boy who passed away in infancy. He attended the Center Intermediate School in Pittsfield.
In 1900 Census he is living with parents at 302 West Street house. He is a silver plater.
1910 Census James is still at the 302 West Street house with his widowed mother and his sisters Mary and Sarah. James seems to be doing jewelry work out of the house.
1911 City Directory James E. Enright (39) is a jeweler, working and living at 302 West St, Pittsfield.
James married Ida Thompson on May 15, 1912. Ida Thompson was born in January of 1878 in New York however she moved to Pittsfield at least by 1900. There we see Ida, a nurse, living in a Pittsfield boarding house with 3 other women.
1920 Census JAMES E. ENRIGHT & wife IDA THOMPSON ENRIGHT residing at 292 West Street. James was working as an accountant for a stationary company.
James E. Enright passed away in June 3, 1922 of endocarditis /valvular heart trouble. His occupation at that time was in the statistical department of the Eaton, Crane & Pike Company.
Afterwards the widow Ida then lived with her sister-in-law, Sarah S. Enright, for a while in the family homestead at 302 West Street.
In 1928 Ida Thompson Enright was a registered nurse rooming at 417 North Street. This year Ida remarried to a Thomas F. Conlin.
