Daughter of John Enright (1837-1909) and Elizabeth O'Hara (1841-1918).

Mary E. Enright was born in November of 1861 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She was the first of nine children born to John and Elizabeth Enright.

Mary E. Enright was a teacher for 30 years and a talented singer as well. In 1900 Mary was listed as a soprano soloist at St. Joseph’s Church.

She lived with her parents and unmarried siblings at 302 West Street. In the census of 1910 Mary is a public school teacher in Pittsfield, living with her widowed mother and single younger sister, Sarah S. Enright, plus her unwed brother James too.

OBIT -- MISS MARY E. ENRIGHT Berkshire Eagle, Pittsfield, Mass., Saturday March 4, 1922:

"Miss Mary E. Enright, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Enright, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. John P. Casey, in New Haven, Conn., yesterday.

"She was for 30 years a teacher in the Pittsfield public schools, her last assignment being at the Joseph Tucker School [formerly called the Linden Street School] on Linden Street.

"She is survived by four brothers, Thomas N., John H., James E., and Joseph A. Enright, all of this city; and two sisters, Mrs. John P. Casey of New Haven and Miss Sarah Enright of this city.

"The body will arrive in this city tomorrow afternoon and will be taken to the home of her brother, James E. Enright, 292 West Street. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10 o'clock from St. Mark's Church and burial will be in the family lot in St. Joseph's cemetery."
