Kenneth F. Sluder, 76, of 97 Alexander Road, Alexander, died Monday, November 16, 1998, in an Asheville hospital.
Mr. Sluder was born in Buncombe County and was the son of the late Mitchell and Minnie Rogers Sluder. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and was retired from the North Carolina Correction
Enterprises. He was an Army veteran of WW II.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Shelton Sluder; daughter Hattie Lee Sluder Rockett of Leicester; two sisters, Annie Sluder Fender of Oteen and Bertha Sluder Shelton of Asheville; a brother, William Sluder of
Leicester; two grandchildren, Amanda Rockett Maynor and her husband Joe, and Kenneth Rockett and his wife Cinnamon, all of Leicester; two
great-grandchildren, Chad and Brooke Maynor; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday at Groce Funeral Home
Chapel with the Revs. Jennis Sluder and Everette Haney. Burial will be in Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Wednesday at the
funeral home and at other times will be at the residence.
