Kenneth "Jack" Burkhardt, 86, of 2082 Fisher's Ridge Road, Milton, Ky., died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, at the Bedford, Ky., Health Care Center.
He was born May 12, 1916, in Trimble County, Ky., the son of Frederick and Myrtle Holderfield Burkhardt. He was a retired farmer, a former member of the Trimble County School Board, and a member of the Mount Byrd Christian Church.
Surviving are one son, Kenneth E. Burkhardt of Milton, Ky.; four daughters, Betty Jane Lichlyter, Agnes Joyce, Jackie Hudson and Nancy Gaines, all of Milton; one brother, Thomas Burkhardt of Milton; three sisters, Bernice Gross of Milton, Ester Dudley and Frances Shott, both of Cincinnati; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gladys Burkhardt, in 1999; one sister, Inez Varble; and two brothers, James and Emerson Burkhardt.
Services will be at 11 a.m. EDT Wednesday at the Mount Byrd Christian Church, with burial in Moffett Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. EDT Tuesday and after 9 a.m. EDT Wednesday at the church.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Mount Byrd Christian Scholarship Fund.
