Once more the angel of death has visited in our midst, this time calling home to rest one of Douglas county's pioneers. Ingrid Larson was born January 12, 1850 near Verdalen, Norway. She was united in marriage to Sivert Roswold in November 1871. In 1873 they came to America where they settled in Calumet, Michigan. They came to Douglas county, Minn., in 1876 and purchased a farm in Urness township, where Mrs. Roswold resided and was tenderly cared for by her son and daughter, William and Clara, until the time of her death. In 1927 she had the misfortune of falling and breaking her hip. However, she slowly regained her health and strength until February, 1933 when she suffered from obstruction of the esophagus. She slowly failed in health after that time but was able to be up until a week before her death. All that loving hands could do was done for her but she passed away Monday evening, October 16 at 11 o'clock. Death came as a sweet relief as her constant prayer was that she might be called home to be with her saviour. Mrs. Roswold was a kind, devoted mother and will be missed greatly in her home. She leaves to mourn her death six children: Mrs. C. J. Richards (Ricka) of California, Albert, Ida, Martin, William and Clara of Evansville, also a stepdaughter Anna of Garfield; besides 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her husband and two daughters, Mary and Otilla preceded her in death some years ago. Funeral services were held in West Urness church Friday, October 20, with Rev. H. B. Raun officiating. The pallbearers were Alvin Eidem, Fritz Lindstrom, Gustav Erickson, Oscar Erickson, Emil Johnson and Adolph Walstad. Blessed be her memory.
