Child of JAMES MERRIMAN ALSTON and MARY EUGENIA TURMAN:
JAMES WARWICK ALSTON, b. 1/31/1877; d. 3/23/1890 "Jimmie"

The writing selected for the tombstone shows how much their firstborn child, Jimmie, was loved. On the front it says "Our Jimmie, son of J.M. & M.E. Alston." On one side is inscribed “COME TO ME. Tread softly, for an angel band doth guard the silent dust. And we can safely leave our boy, our darling, in their trust.” On the other side, it exhorts, "GONE SO SOON. How much of light and love and joy Lies buried with our darling boy."
