Rosell Richardson, in his 1906 2nd Edition of "Amos Richardson of Boston and Stonington" (p. 59) stated that he found no record of Abigail beyond her recorded birth. It is otherwise well-accepted that on an unknown date Abigail m. Sgt. Benjamin Case, Jr., s. of Benjamin Case and Mary Manning, b. on or after March 28, 1733 likely at adjoining Mansfield, Conn. He d. Mar. 27, 1801 at Coventry, Conn., Æ 68 (g.s.).
According to two separate newspaper extracts in the Hale Connecticut Cemetery Inscriptions; Burial and Death Index (the earliest of which was published Mar. 2, 1813), Abigail d. at New Marlborough, Mass. the "Relict of Benjamin Case of Coventry, Conn., age 73." One source claims she died on Jan. 31, 1813.
According to the printed 1929 reading of the South Cemetery at Coventry is the notation there was then an unmarked grave to the right of Sgt. Benjamin Case's grave with the unmarked grave assumed to be that of the widow Abigail (Richardson) Case. Clues to why Abigail was at New Marlborough in 1813 are currently under research.
Abigail and husband Benjamin Case, Jr. had ten children, whose identity, including the married name of their five daughters, is only possible via Benjamin's will of 1794 at Coventry and subsequent distribution of his estate in 1804.
