Mildred Brumfield Walker, 94, widow of Otha Walker, joined him in eternal rest on Sunday, Oct. 6, at Royal Manor Nursing Home. Mildred was a native of Jessamine County born Sept. 9, 1919, to the late Buford B. and Sara Sanders Brumfield. She was a dedicated member of Providence Christian Church and a member of CWF, a loving Mother to sons Lee Walker, and Bert Walker, wife Flo, daughters Annetta Gayle Harney, husband Mike, Jackie Bellman, husband Bob, and Sarah Walker, loving grandmother to Amy Whitaker, husband Norris, Carol Ann Whitaker, Jolee Walker, Henry Walker, Morgan Walker, Mike Walker, wife Gina, Floyd Walker, wife Kathy, Hannah Walker, Lovie Walker, Mildred Ann Walker, husband Steven, Deania Tackett, husband LTC Craig, Major Kenneth Harney, Jennifer Robbins, husband David, and Rebecca Johns, husband Andy, great grandmother to 22 great grandchildren, and great-great grandmother to 5 great-great grandchildren. Additional survivors include sisters Susie Cobb, Meredith Owens, Ann Glass, husband Bill, and Neva Jean Allison, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters Lovie Craig, Ruby Hager, and Carmen Shawler and brothers Moss Brumfield, Okle Brumfield, Merritt Brumfield, and Walter Brumfield. A Service of Remembrance will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, Oct. 10, at Providence Christian Church and she will be laid to rest beside her husband in Maple Grove Cemetery.
