BASCUM H. LOWERY:
MARION-Bascum Hubert Lowery, 83, of 525 Resevoir Road died Thursday in a McDowell County nursing center.
Born in McDowell County, his parents were the late John A. Lowery and Lula Biddix Lowery. He was a retired farmr.
Surviving are his wife Lois White Lowery of Greenville, S.C.; a son Bobby Lowery of spruce Pine; a daughter, Mrs Gilbert Hollifield Sr. of Marion; seven sisters, Nell Simmons and Mrs Dusky Cresawn, both of Spruce Pine, and Cora Holllifield, Edith Fisher, Thelma McGee, Pauline Boyd and Faye Biddix, all of Marion, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11a.m. Saturday in Turkey Cove Baptist Church . The Rev. Sumter West will officiate. Burial will be in Turkey Cove Cememtery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at McCall-Kirksey Funeral Home, and at other times will be at Mrs Gilbert Hollifield's residence on Greenlee road. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
