Norman Albert White, 87, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Saturday in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Norman was born April 16, 1926. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Smith White and Laura Hall White; his wife, Mary Joe White; four brothers, Ray, Haskell, Everette and Coleman White; half-brother, Roy; half-sisters, Eva and Evelyn; granddaughter, LaMonica Spears; and grandson, Patrick Gaines. Survivors: Daughters, Paula Spears, Myra Carter and Cassandra Gaines; sons, Earnest, Brian and Dale White; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and sister, Linda Jennings.
