Eileen Josephine Conley Hazel, 66 of 622 W. Buena Vista Ave., N. Augusta, SC died Saturday, Oct. 6, 1990, at St. Joseph Hospital, in Augusta, Ga. She was called "Jay" by her family and "Joe" by her husband's family.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home, N. Augusta, SC with Rev. Ron Manuel and Rev. Tony Avery officiating. Burial will be in Pineview Memorial Gardens, N. Augusta, SC.
Pallbearers will be Marion T. Hazel III, Charles D. Hazel, Steven C. Smith, David S. Smith, Paul Proveaux and Bobby Tinsley Jr.
Mrs. Hazel, a native of Clear Fork, WV had lived in N. Augusta for 40 years. She was a Baptist, a mother, a homemaker, a caretaker and a loving trusted friend to all those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Dee William Conley and Nell Kate Bowden Acord Conley of Oceana, WV; a son Michael Byron Hazel; six brothers and one sister of Wyoming County, WV.
Survivors include her husband, Marion T. Hazel Sr.; three daughters, Angela Ella Breeden and Pamela Marie Jesse, both of Oneonta, AL. and Sandrala Gail Young, of N. Augusta, SC; three sons, Marion Thomas Hazel Jr., Augusta, GA, Gerald William Hazel, Trenton,SC and Joseph Lee Hazel, N. Augusta, SC; a brother, Jesse Randolph Conley, Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Nita Maude Cline and Dolly Ray Brunty, both of Oceana, WV; and 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 today at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Sandrala G. Young, 2210 Vireo Dr., N. Augusta.
Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home will be in charge.
