Joseph Thompson, 80, of 1106 West Twelfth, died Sunday morning at his home. He was born April 10, 1882, in Coal Creek, Ind., moving to Texas and from there to Oklahoma during the Land Rush. He came to Okmulgee in 1913. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Viola Thompson, of the home. Two daughters, Miss Bertha V. Thompson, of the home and Mrs. Linnie Gorley, Gainsville, Tx.; three sons, Harvey Thompson, Tulsa; Floyd Thompson, Okemah; and Lloyd Thompson, 1121 West Eighth; five sisters, Mrs. Maggie Henderson and Mrs. Alice Burt of Okmulgee; Aline Blue, and Annie Ritchie of Shawnee; Mrs. Jettie Robison, San Diego, Calif., and one brother, George Thompson of Shawnee; Seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. in the Buchanan Chapel with Rev. Olin T. Craig of the Northside Assembly of God Church officiating
.Internment will be in the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the Buchanan Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jim Connell, Floyd Baldridge, Mack Wright, Chet Smith, Gene Harbison and Charley Arnold.
