Elizabeth Jean McKell was the daughter of James Nason and Margaret Montgomery Nason. She was born in the Fairfield District, SC on the 2nd of March 1820. Around 1838, Elizabeth's family moved to Starkville, MS along with her Montgomery, Bell and Nason relatives.
On December 24, 1843 Elizabeth Jane Nason married David McKell, son of the late William McKell and Elizabeth "Betsy" Bell McKell at Associate Reformed Presbyterian in Starkville, Mississippi; the Reverend David Pressly officiated. Elizabeth & David had known each other from childhood, back in South Carolina.
They had six children:

Hugh Montgomery (1850-1851)
Margaret "Maggie" {m. Middleton}(1852-1872)
Elizabeth died on the 16th of March 1875, just 14 days after her 55th birthday. She is buried beside her husband and children in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery in Starkville, Mississippi.
