Greasy was a retired foreman at Consol Coal Company. He had worked for twenty years as a UMW of A miner for Gibraltar Coal Corp. in Central City, Kentucky. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of UMW of A Local 1092. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of W.W. II.
He was born June 1, 1926 at Oakland City, Indiana, the son of Russell O. and Neoma (Rock) Williams.
He married Mara Lou Maikranz on February 7, 1948 at Petersburg, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters - Thelma Barrett and Vivian Norrington, and one brother - Donald in infancy.
Funeral services were at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Tim McIntyre officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 7 A.M. until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
