HugoSabel, 82, of St.Peter, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 1983, at St. Agnes Hospital where he was taken earlier in the day.
He was born Feb. 18, 1901, at Johnsburg, to the late Henry and Anna Schmitz Sabel. He attended St. John the Baptist Parochial School at Johnsburg. On Jan. 27, 1931, he married Sedonia Heimerl at Marytown.
The couple farmed In the St. Peter area for 33 years. He was also a milk hauler for Baker Cheese Factory for 18 years, and was formerly employed by Midland Co-op here for 10 years.
Mr. Sabel was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church at St. Peter, Holy Name Society and Calvary Area Senior Citizens.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Alvin, Roger and Harold all of St. Peter; and four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Esther) Immel of Route 1, Eden, Mrs. Ralph (Lucille) Wuest, Mrs. Bernard (Dolores) Gau and Mrs. Ronald (Betty) Seibel all of St. Peter.
Other survivors are 39 grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Alvina Abler and Mrs. Albert (Priska) Diederichs both of St. Peter; and two brothers, Roman and Gregor both of Fond du Lac.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, grandson, four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:15 a.m. Thursday at Huss Funeral Home, St. Cloud, and at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, St. Peter. The Rev. Clarence Nickolai will officiate, and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends of Mr. Sabel may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
