Derrel "Buster" Priddy , the son of John K. Priddy and Myrtle Allen Priddy , was born December 11, 1939 in Lee County , Mississippi . His paternal grandparents were James F. Priddy and Carrie B. McCarty Priddy , and his maternal grandparents were Charlie Frank Allen and Belle Fowler Allen . His siblings were Pauline Priddy Norton , Florine Priddy Martin , Geraldine Priddy Carr, Elaine Priddy West , John Allen Priddy , Martha Jane Priddy Sanders, James F. Priddy , and Mary Jo Priddy Pannell . " Buster" married Sylvia Ann Guntharp on January 30 , 1960 . For 50 years he was employed as a route salesman for Cockrell Banana Company . Buster , a charter member of West Jackson Baptist Church , served as a deacon and youth Sunday school teacher . For a while as a young man Buster was on a minor league baseball team . He always enjoyed sport activities whether as a fan or as a coach . Derrel " Buster " Priddy died July 25 , 2009 following a battle with cancer . He was survived by his wife Sylvia Guntharp Priddy , his daughter Debbie Leech ( Michael ) , son David Priddy , three grandchildren , one great grandchild , and five sisters . He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers .
