TUPELO – MaryJo Priddy Pannell, 76, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended battle with cancer. A Tupelo native, she was born Sept. 28, 1937, to John K. and Myrtle Allen Priddy, who preceded her in death. She retired from Woolworths before feeding most of Tupelo as a deli and restaurant manager at several locations around the Tupelo area. She also fed numerous teenagers of Tupelo in the late '70s and early '80s while they hung out at her home with her two sons. She enjoyed reading and music, but most importantly doing for others. Her most precious possessions were her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will be at Andrews Chapel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne "Cootie" Pannell; her parents; brothers, John Allen Priddy, James Franklin Priddy and Buster Priddy; sisters, Florine Martin and Geraldine Carr.

Survivors include her sons, Randy Pannell (Angela) of Starkville and Greg Pannell of Tupelo; her grandchildren, Quint of Starkville and Staycie, William John and Maggie Pannell, all of Tupelo. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Jayda, Jace and Jaylee Pannell; three sisters, Pauline Norton (Charles) of McMinnville, Tennessee, Linda Elaine West of Verona, Martha Sanders of Hernando; two sisters-in-law, Diann Priddy and Sylvia Priddy, both of Tupelo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be David Priddy, Jim Priddy, Steve West, Tim Webb, Kerry Cermack and David Howard.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Sanctuary Hospice, P.O. Box 2177, Tupelo MS 38803.
