Rose Mary Gast Johnson rites at St James
Funeral services for Rose Mary Gast Johnson who died at her residence in Austin on Wednesday, will be held on Satuerday, Jan. 30 at 10 a.m. at St James Catholic Church. The Rev. Jim Kotara will officiating, with interment in St James Cemetery. A rosary will be held at Seydler-Hill Funeral Chapel tonight at 7 p.m.
Mr. Johnson was born on March 7, 1919 in Fayette County, to Lorenzo and Albina Simcik Gast, natives respectively of Germany and Moulton. She worked as a nurse aide.
She is survived by a daughter, Vickie Anderson; two sons, David F. McMillin and Herman McMillin, all of Austin; three sisters, Stella Badex of Gonzales, Martha Callahan of Waelder and Annie Pospisil of Shiner; five brothers, Jimmie and David Gast of Houston, Victor Gast of Pasadena, Frank and Leroy Gast; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
