Anton Gast Rites Set for Saturday

last rites will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the St. James Catholic church for Anton Gast who died at the Holmes Memorial hospital at 4:35 p.m. Thursday. The rites will be preceded by rosary at the Seydler Funeral home Friday evening at 8 o'clock. The Rev. Joseph Mathey, pastor, will be in charge of the service with interment to take place in the Catholic cemetery.
Gast was born in Moulton on September 25, 1913, and had been making his home in Monthalia where he was a poultryman. He was a life member of the Catholic church. His father and mother were Lawrence and Albina Simcik Gast, natives of Germany and Moulton respectively.
Survivors include his parents of Gonzales; one son, Leonard Gast, Flatonia; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Pospil, Flatonia; Mrs. James Johnson, Austin; Mrs. Leo Baker, Gonzales; Mrs. Martha Calhan, San Antonio; seven brothers, Paul, Emil, Frank, Leroy, David Victor, and Jimmy Gast, all of Gonzales.
Pallbearers will be Leo Kuntschik, Karl Kuntschik, Raymond Gast, Frank Simcik, Theo Schumann and Anton Pulkrabek.

Anton Gast is the son of Lorenz and Albina (Simcik) Gast. They are also buried in Saint James Catholic Cemetery in Gonzales, Texas.
