Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Cornelia "Snip" Murchison, 91, of Pinehurst, Idaho, passed away May 1, 2013, at Regency Pacific of Pinehurst. She was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Oral, S.D. Snip was the daughter of Peter Meyer and Selia (Van Den Berg) Verwolf.

Snip attended and graduated from Sandpoint High School in Sandpoint, Idaho in 1939. She married Harold "Pat" L. Murchison on March 14, 1940, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Pat and Snip moved to the Silver Valley in 1940 from Sandpoint. Pat passed away in February 1984.

Snip was a beautician and had owned and operated Snip's Beauty Shop of Pinehurst and Kingston. She then owned and operated a ceramic shop in Smelterville. Snip also had managed the Kings Inn and had managed the Cataldo Inn along with Dale Freeman. Then lastly, Dale and Snip owned and operated The Boat Restaurant outside Smelterville.

Snip was a member of the Silver Valley Arts and Crafts and had been a member of a bowling league. She loved and enjoyed her family, painting, needlework, crocheting, knitting, traveling, ceramics, gardening and baking.

Snip is survived by two sons, Harold "Sonny" (Julie Hei) Murchison of Soldotna, Alaska and Richard "Dick" Murchison of Cathedral City, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; two previous daughters-in-law, Sharon Williams of Kingston, Idaho and Gail Murchison of Woodinville, Wash.; Snip is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Pat, her partner Dale Freeman, one brother and three sisters.

A Celebration of Snip's Life will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the Kellogg Funeral Chapel of Kellogg, Idaho with Pastor David Roberts officiating. Internment will be held at the Shoshone Memorial Gardens of Pinehurst. Shoshone Funeral Services and Crematory of Kellogg is entrusted with arrangements.
