The Belleville Telescope, November 28, 1935

Benjamin Franklin Workman, son of Jerome and Susannah Workman was born in Knox County, O., February 24, 1865; and died at his home in Courtland, November 20, 1935, at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 25 days.

He was married to Kitty Ann Ooley May 1, 1888 and came to Kansas in 1874. To this union there were born seven children, of whom six survive: Lester of Hastings, Neb., Elsie Graham and Viola Staley of Concordia, Edna Roper, Lee and Ben, jr., of Courtland. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Comstock of Stauffer, Alberta, Canada, and Mrs. Maude Morris of Colby.

Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Episcopal church of Courtland on November 21 by the pastor, the Rev. W. Grant Smith, and interment was made in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
