Obituary from the Shreveport Times newspaper, Sep. 25, 1998, Friday, p. 19:

SHREVEPORT, LA – Services for Nikki A. Booras, 70, of Shreveport, will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 1998 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Officiating will be Father George Bessinas, pastor of St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Stoner Avenue.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, September 25, 1998 at Rose-Neath's Marshall Street Chapel with a Trisagion following at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Booras died Thursday, September 24, 1998 at Highland Hospital after a lengthy illness. A native of Shreveport, Mrs. Booras was a retired teacher for the Northwest Rehabilitation Center. She was a charter member of Daughters of Penelope, Ladies Philoptochos Society, St. George Greek Orthodox Church and Choir and the Shreveport Choral Ensemble.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Stan and Danny Booras.

Survivors include her husband, Dan Booras; son, Chris Booras and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Ellen, Katherine, Lauren and Eddie; sister, Maria Skamangas; brothers, Jimmy and Achilles Armenakis; and numerous relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Don Mize, Jeff Abney, Charlie Booras, Kevin Bryan, Johnny Mijalis and Bobby Booras.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
