Obituary from the Shreveport Times newspaper, June 24, 1983, Friday, p. 15:

SHREVEPORT – Services for Mrs. Irma Lee Armenakis, 76, of Shreveport, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday June 25 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Father Charles Joanides, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery.

Visitation: 4 p.m. Friday until service time Saturday at Wellman Funeral Home.

Trisagion: 7 p.m. Friday at Wellman's Chapel.

Mrs. Armenakis was born in Pelahatchie, Miss. and a resident of Shreveport for 64 years, died Thursday June 23, 1983, at Schumpert Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was a homemaker and a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church and Daughters of Penelope and Sister Hood of Hellenic Ladies.

She is survived by two sons, Lt. Col. D. A. Armenakis of Annandale, Va. and Dr. Achilles A. Armenakis of Auburn, Ala.; two daughters, Mrs. Dan C. Booras and Mrs. P. E. Skamangas, of Shreveport; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers: E. Donald Mize, Alex C. Booras, Alex S. Mijalis, John Malant, Socrates D. Lorant, Nick Mandrapilias, Andrew Panos and Steve Jordan.

The family requests that any memorials be made to the St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
