He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; he then worked for Stockbridge Manufacturing, Fox Equipment and Manufacturing, Leibzeit Dairy, and later farmed in the town of Stockbridge until his retirement in 1994.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge, and a member of the American Legion Post #128.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen, Stockbridge; three children, Mary Frances Moehn, Oshkosh, Thomas (Jane) Moehn, Chilton, and Jo Ann Schuh, Appleton; six grandchildren, Melissa, Jacob, Rachel and Joshua Moehn, and Christopher and Matthew Schuh; three brothers, Math (Sylvia) Moehn, Stockbridge, Art (Doris) Moehn, Stockbridge, and Gerald (Pat) Moehn, Stockbridge; five sisters, Lucille (Harry) Martin, Chilton, Luella (Robert) Brooks, Menasha, Helen Lucey, Two Rivers, Mary (Robert) Schwobe, Chilton, and Carol (Richard) Mueller, Oshkosh; two sisters-in-law, Florence Moehn, Chilton, and Betty Moehn, Stockbridge.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jerome W. Schuh; two brothers, Clifford and George Moehn; and a brother-in-law, Jim Lucey.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge with the Rev. Leander Nickel officiating. Military rites will be conducted following the funeral Mass and a spring burial will take place. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home, 411 W. Main St., Chilton from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and again at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. A parish prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
